Michael is responsible for Actis’s infrastructure business across all of our markets. He joined Actis in 1995 as an investment executive for Latin America. He subsequently became a manager in the Natural Resources Group before moving to Bolivia in 2001, where he headed up Actis’s Latin America operations responsible for an investment portfolio of US$250 million.

Michael has led and worked on equity deals throughout the Latin American region and is a non-executive director of many of our investee companies. In addition to his Latin America role, Michael has invested, managed and exited deals in mining, smelter, port, railroad, airport and toll road businesses as well as in Greenfield power development.

Prior to joining Actis, Michael spent four years with Arthur Andersen in London and Buenos Aires, and two years in Korea as an Economic Analyst.

Michael is a graduate in economics from the University of Durham and an Associate of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales.
