
Denis has thirty years experience in all fields of transport consulting in Australia, Asia, Europe and the Americas. He holds a degree in Civil Engineering and a Masters degree in Transport from Imperial College, London.
For the last 15 years he has provided the direction and leadership for the Maunsell Group’s international transport planning and economics group. He is currently a director of AECOM Enterprises –– in this role he is the global co-ordinator of the firm’s Traffic & Revenue advisory services and has responsibility for the positioning of the firm in private sector projects.
In particular, Denis has focused upon the development and application of quantitative methods for analysis and forecasting of toll road traffic and revenue.
He is now regarded as a world authority in the art/science of traffic and revenue forecasting for toll roads. His opinion and expertise are regularly sought by project financiers in Australia, Europe and USA.
His forecasting work underpinned the successful Melbourne City Link transaction in the mid 1990’s, the M7 (Sydney Orbital) and the RiverCity Motorway transactions in Australia. In North America, he has been a consultant to 407ETR in Toronto and the SR125 in San Diego on pricing strategy and was leader of the Traffic & Revenue teams supporting Cintra and Macquarie’s successful bids for Chicago Skyway and the Indiana Toll Road. In the UK, he directed the forecasting for the M6Toll refinancing transaction in 2006.
Globally, in excess of $12 billion of project financing has been based upon the T&R advice he has directed.
