Jürgen Franke, Executive Director in the Capital Markets - Global Energy Team at WestLB in Düsseldorf. He has significant experience in working with MLAs and ECAs on multi-source project financings and has played a lead role in, amongst others, the Nowa Sarzyna power plant in Poland, the Ibirite power project in Brazil and the Rijnmond power plant in the Netherlands, structured export financings in Iran with NPC and in Russia with Gazprom, the Ras Laffan LNG plant in Qatar and the ELNG train 1 and 2 projects in Egypt, the financing of the EEE and the Nuon Lugo wind power projects in Spain, and the financing for the Trianel 800 MW CCGT power plant in Germany.
Before joining WestLB in 1994, he worked for Barclays Bank in Frankfurt and London for almost 6 years where he concentrated on asset backed and tax driven financial engineering transactions and acquisition finance, including LBOs and MBOs.
Jürgen Franke holds a degree and a PhD in economics and business administration of the University of Bochum in Germany.
