
Jeffrey Altmann, Senior Asset Manager, First State Investments

Jeffrey Altmann has over 20 years of infrastructure and financial service experience. He is a senior asset manager of infrastructure investments at First State Investments, a leading global infrastructure asset manager currently establishing a €1.5 billion open-ended European infrastructure fund, which he joined in January 2008. Prior to joining First State, Jeffrey worked with utilities involved with electricity, gas and telecoms as well as advising on several investment opportunities with regards to infrastructure-related assets in Europe. He spent ten years in the US and Europe with Southern Company/Mirant Corporation. During this time he spent five years successfully privatising and restructuring Bewag AG and GASAG AG, Berlin’s electric and gas utilities. While in the US, Jeffrey worked mostly on non-regulated assets for the Southern Company. Previously, Jeffrey also worked for Chase Manhattan Bank and Imperial Ventures, Inc. a wholly owned subsidiary of Imperial Bank (California). Jeffrey has a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Southern California and a Bachelor of Science in the School of Foreign Service from Georgetown University.
