Turkven
Established in 2000, Turkven is the leading alternative asset manager in Turkey with approximately 20 investment professionals and AUM of €500 million in private equity and real estate.
Turkven has a history of landmark achievements in the Turkish PE market, raising the first ever independent PE fund for Turkey (2002), realizing the first venture backed LBO (Uno, 2003) and executing the largest venture backed LBO (Migros, 2008). The firm has also realized three exits, all of which rank among the highest return exits in the growing Turkish PE industry; a unique track record in the nascent Turkish PE industry.
Turkven has invested in 13 companies resulting in total equity and debt placements of over €3 billion. The firm specializes in industries which combine high growth and recurring revenues. The fact that all Turkven exits have been to strategic buyers and the strong strategic interest in remaining Turkven portfolio companies such as Pronet (Alarm monitoring), Digiturk (Pay TV) and Migros (Food retail) are testament to the validity of the firm’s investment strategy.
Turkven has no Turkish investors. The firm has raised its second fund from 19 large international, institutional investors in 2007, based on the success of its first fund. The investors whose assets total over €950 billion include ADIA, GIC, IFC, DEG, FMO and EIF.
