Wendy Norris, Director, Infrastructure & Timberland, Future Fund
Wendy joined the Future Fund in April 2010 as Director, Infrastructure and Timberland. Since that time she has been responsible for developing the infrastructure and timberland strategy and establishing and managing the portfolio. Wendy was previously an Investment Director with Hastings Funds Management where she was responsible for managing infrastructure investments and leading transactions in Australia, the UK and the US. She holds an applied science degree from the University of New South Wales and a graduate management diploma from the Australian Graduate School of Management.
Future Fund
The Future Fund was established by the Australian Government in 2006 to assist future governments meet the cost of public sector superannuation liabilities by delivering target long term investment returns between 4.5% and 5.5% above inflation. The current Strategic Asset Allocation has 25% of the Fund’s assets allocated to Tangible Assets, including timberland, property and infrastructure. As at 31 March 2012 the Fund’s portfolio was A$77.1 billion including an exposure to Infrastructure and Timberland of $4.3b or 5.6%.
