Welcome to the PEI Responsible Investment Forum: Integrating ESG to build better businesses
The third PEI Responsible Investment Forum is taking place on 5th October 2012 in Amsterdam. Building on the tremendous success of previous year’s events in London and New York, the forum will examine in detail how private equity firms can build better portfolio businesses by focusing on environmental, social and governance issues (ESG).
PEI, the leading publisher for private equity insight, is honoured to be co-hosting the event again with the Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI), an investor initiative in partnership with UNEP Finance Initiative and the UN Global Compact. |

Building Better Business through ESG best practice: why now?
Institutional investors managing assets worth $22 trillion globally have already signed up to ESG principles and private equity can’t afford to sit on the sidelines. The central belief is that ESG risk factors can have a material impact on long-term shareholders by improving returns.
The Forum will analyse investor thinking around ESG, how returns are affected and how it improves portfolio performance.
Survey snapshot: More than one-third (39%) of LPs who took part in a private equity survey on ESG say they have turned away GPs based on an insufficient grasp of environmental, social and governance issues
