Welcome to the sixth annual forum aimed at those who dedicate their time and resources to running private equity firms: the operating professionals. Due in part to external distractions and to the industry doing a better job of managing its image, last year’s media frenzy surrounding private equity has calmed considerably. That calm may be misleading however as regulatory threats, taxation issues, scarcity of debt financing and increasingly constant media attention mean that now, more than ever, is the time to be focusing on operational excellence.

External financial distractions, like the credit crisis, will not last for ever and there are new, Europe-wide regulatory issues emerging from the European Union. The media spotlight may have dimmed, but has certainly not gone away. Now would be an excellent time to look at transforming the much-maligned image of private equity to that of long term capital.

One major topic of this event will address what those managing private equity houses can do to handle the situation and how they can take advantage of the current relative calm. As always, the forum will cover all the topics most relevant to the day-to-day running of the firm from an analytical, operational perspective.

We are also delighted to be able to announce that we will be extending the forum with the Private Equity Investor Relations Module. CFOs and COOs are welcome to enjoy the highly relevant full two days of the forum, while investor relations professionals will be able to participate on the second day of the event.
