22-23 APRIL 2008

After two extremely successful events, PEI Media – the global private equity media company and publishers of both Private Equity International and PEI Asia magazine – was delighted to host the third in this series of events: The Private Equity International Forum: Asia 2008 at the prestigious Four Seasons Hotel in Hong Kong on 22-23 April 2008.

Building on this solid foundation, PEI developed a more expansive programme to allow a more rigorous investigation into and discussion of key topics surrounding private equity operations and strategies in the Asian region.

"Private equity in Asia has grown into a diverse and sophisticated industry, one that requires informed and extensive coverage. The PEI Asia Forum provides that."
- Andrew Liu, Managing Partner & CEO, CCMP Capital Asia

While some parts of the global economy have seen a slow down after the credit market upheaval in 2007, Asia continues to remain a strong, vibrant region for local private equity fundraising and transactional opportunities, as well as for international investors. But, there is no room for complacency and to maintain success and growth private equity firms must address subjects from dealing with increasing international competition to resolving local day-to-day management issues.

With our award winning editorial team’s pedigree and locally based assets, PEI has a unique position in the market that offered attendees a comprehensively well researched programme and presentations from some of Asia’s leading private equity industry practitioners. Rapid growth of private equity activity in the region has brought its own issues, particularly in the areas of general partnership management, liaison with investors and human capital resources. Employment and retention of highly qualified personnel is a major issue, as global investors seek to develop key relationships with locally based entities and expect international standards of due diligence, reporting and team stability.

If you are running a private equity business in Asia or working with the industry from an investor’s or consultant’s perspective, The Private Equity International Forum: Asia 2008 was not to be missed. With a combination of world class speakers, senior level delegates and a programme that actively encouraged interaction between both parties, attendees gained superb insight into the granular issues governing successful private equity operations.
