
Ray holds a Bachelor of Economics from Macquarie University, a Graduate Diploma of Applied Finance and Investment from the Securities Institute of Australia, is a Fellow of FINSIA, a member of the Institute of Actuaries of Australia and a qualified CFA of the Association of Investment Management & Research in the United States of America.
Ray joined B&B in 1999 and is the head of the East Asian infrastructure team. Ray has extensive experience in infrastructure investment, both from a M&A and asset management perspective. Specifically Ray has been involved in wind power generation, thermal electricity generation, energy transmission & distribution, coal bed methane gas field exploration and development, and transportation infrastructure investments in Asia, Australia and Europe. He has worked on many successful infrastructure transactions, including:
• the acquisitions of Alinta Limited, Flinders Power Partners, International Energy Group, and the Olivo wind farm portfolio
• the initial public offerings and subsequent equity capital raisings for BBI, BBP and BBW
• global financing facilities for BBW and BBP, and strategic investment in Sydney Gas Limited.
Prior to joining Babcock & Brown, Raymond worked in the investment bank Salomon Smith Barney as well as the consulting firm PriceWaterhouseCoopers in Australia and Asia.
