Energy Investors Funds

Energy Investors Funds (EIF) was founded in 1987 as the first private equity fund manager dedicated exclusively to the independent power and electric utility industry.  Since that time, EIF has successfully raised seven private equity funds.

Through these funds, EIF is recognized globally as a leading private equity manager and investor specializing in private power projects and companies in the United States.  EIF has mobilized over $3.4 billion of capital in portfolios containing over 100 diversified investments, with a combined underlying asset value exceeding $7 billion.  Of these investments, 65 have been liquidated and/or securitized.  These power related investments are primarily located in the U.S. and span a wide range of investment strategies, technologies, and fuels.

On June 25, 2007, EIF closed on $1.35 billion of commitments in the United Stated Power Fund III, L.P. (“US Power Fund III”), which was substantially oversubscribed.  Similar to the United States Power Funds I and II, US Power Fund III will target acquisitions of U.S.-based electricity generation and transmission assets as well as energy services and clean energy projects.  The Fund may invest in projects at the development, construction, and operating stages.  The US Power Funds seek current income and capital growth for their investors.  Historically, EIF’s U.S. fund investments have produced annual cash distributions to investors as well as the proceeds of realized investments.

With offices in Boston, San Francisco, and New York, EIF’s professional staff of 27 includes finance, engineering, development, marketing, and legal professionals with extensive experience in the development, evaluation, financial engineering, and financing of power and environmental projects.  Energy Investors Funds is an independent, 100% management-owned and operated private equity fund management company.
