
Andrew is a corporate finance partner based in Dubai. Andrew has broad transaction focused experience having acted on a range of acquisitions and disposals, joint ventures, capital raisings, corporate structuring matters and supply arrangements. He has particular expertise in private equity and venture capital work and played a leading role in the growth of the New Zealand private equity and venture capital industry.
After 2 years in London working for Gamlens and then Slaughter & May, Andrew returned to Auckland in 1988 and joined Simpson Grierson, where he was a corporate partner for close to 12 years. He joined Norton Rose (Middle East) LLP, Dubai office in 2008.
Andrew was a long standing board member of the New Zealand Private Equity & Venture Capital Association (as the only lawyer on the board) and represented the New Zealand Venture Investment Fund (established by the New Zealand government to stimulate the venture capital and early stage investment markets in New Zealand) from its creation, acting on the establishment of many of the funds currently active in the New Zealand market and investments by those funds. He has also developed templates for investment transactions which have been widely adopted by the New Zealand market as representing best practice.
