Infrastructure Investor: Asia
Forging equitable and sustainable partnerships
Welcome to the inaugural Infrastructure Investor: Asia, hosted by PEI Media.

Infrastructure has traditionally been perceived as a low risk, low returns asset class in developed countries but this is certainly not the case in most parts of emerging Asia. Witness the emergence of a host of new funds in the past 18-24 months in pursuit of opportunities across a region where infrastructure development has largely been lagging behind growth. Infrastructure returns from India for example are closer to 20 percent, compared to single-digit returns in many developed nations.

Funds are relative late-comers to the region where public-private partnerships have generally attracted strategic corporate investors with longer term interest in projects.

The influx of funds and new types of investors, however, could change the way infrastructure investments will be implemented in the future. Existing equity stakeholders and finance providers will review the asset class leading in turn to more equitable and sustainable partnerships for all those investing in infrastructure in Asia.

Who should attend?

Whether you are a developer, operator, government representative, fund manager or institutional investor exploring investment opportunities, this is an event you must not miss as we have built a detailed programme that will answer your questions on infrastructure investing across emerging Asia.

What matters?

• How will the emergence of funds and other new investors change the infrastructure investment landscape?

• What are the currency, political and other risks implied in investing in infrastructure projects across Asia?

• How can governments become more closely aligned with the commercial viability of infrastructure projects?

• Can offtake agreements in the power sector be applied in the water and other sectors?

• Are there more opportunities for private investors in India than China and what other regions offer investment potential?

Key issues to be addressed include:

• How should fund managers be allocating capital in a heterogeneous region?

• Design, build, finance, operate – finding an optimal PPP model for Asia’s diverse markets

• Reviewing the revenue model: can offtake agreements for power be applied in the water sector?

• Indonesia post-elections: will the investment landscape change for the better?

If you want answers to any of the above questions and more, the Infrastructure Investor Forum: Asia is definitely an event you should sign up to attend. Meet the key decision makers from the political, corporate and investor communities across Asia.
