Did you know? A new law overhauling New York’s accounting rules expanded definition of “public accounting” to include accounting, management and financial advisory services, in addition to tax and professional services. CPAs performing public accounting services for non-CPA employers, whether those are companies, the government, universities or nonprofits, will be required to register with New York State, including private equity CFOs.
In addition, a registered CPA or public accountant must complete 40 hours of general studies or 24 hours of concentrated study in one recognised area of study, such as tax, during each year. The new law also changed the structure of CPE requirements – before, CPAs could complete 120 hours anytime over the course of three years, but now CPAs must complete 40 hours each year.
Who should attend? The webinar series is expressly for those accounting and finance professionals within a private equity firm charged with managing its financial functions: • Chief Financial Officers • Chief Operating Officers • Controllers • Treasurers • Fund Administration Personnel
