Kotan has been an investment banker for 13 years focusing on M&A, divestments, privatisations, equity offerings, private placements, acquisition financings and restructurings in Turkey. Kotan has been ranked amongst the top 5 investment bankers out off 250+ involved in Turkish cross-border deals with $9.3 billion deal volume (MergerMarket, 2001 - current). Kotan has a wide industry experience covering power, oil & gas, telecoms, financials, retail & food, pharma, consumer durables and diversified industrials. In the past, Kotan had advised on the buy-side KKR, CVCI, Bain, Warburg Pincus, Bridgepoint, TPG, JC Flowers, Marathon and Fortis Infrastructure Fund. Prior to Pragma, Kotan was at Standard Bank in Turkey, serving as Executive Director, Co-Head of Merges & Acquisitions, and ABN AMRO Bank in Turkey serving as the Deputy Head of Invesment Banking and Corporate Finance. Kotan has a BS degree in Mech.Engr. from Lehigh University and an MBA from Cornell University. Kotan is also a Advisory Board member at Endeavor and a founding Board member of Turkish Policy Forum.
