The Delhiites Perspective

It has been suggested that regulations have stood in the way of project development, and the Land Acquisition Bill continues to plague stakeholders whose interest lies in expeditious project completion. For infrastructure professionals who reside in India’s administrative capital, being in Delhi keeps them close enough to policy makers to exert some form of influence, but it is this very proximity that can create frustration and road blocks that are less obvious to players located away from Delhi. What do Delhiites really think?

-   Is the current regulatory framework favourable – relative to other emerging markets - for
private capital and/or international investors? What needs to be reviewed?
-   Land acquisition: how can the biggest challenge for all developers be overcome? Are
there key considerations that were previously overlooked?
-   Case study for discussion: Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor

The Delhiites:
Amitabh Kant, CEO & Managing Director, Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor Development Corporation
Shailesh Pathak, President, Srei Infrastructure Finance Ltd
Pradeep Singh, Vice Chairman & Managing Director, IDFC Projects Limited
