Welcome to the 2008 Emerging Markets Private Equity Forum – New York, co-hosted by Private Equity International and the Emerging Markets Private Equity Association (EMPEA) - the premier private equity event for emerging markets investors.

Building on the success of our three previous emerging markets events in London, we have decided to launch a New York equivalent, where private equity emerging markets fund managers and investors can come together to find out the very latest developments in global emerging markets, discover optimum ways of accessing and deploying capital and network with peers from around the world.

The Forum will address the following key themes among others:

• Key challenges and routes to success in China
• Realities of investing in India
• Data trends analysis – looking beyond India and China
• GPs perspective on emerging markets private equity
• Managing risk in emerging markets
• Key things to consider when planning your emerging markets strategy
• The LPs view - investing in emerging markets private equity
• Identifying excellence in emerging markets fund managers

Regional roundtables will look at the latest trends, developments and opportunities in Brazil, Russia & Emerging Europe, Middle East & North Africa and South Africa. Delegates will also hear from some of the leading international speakers in emerging and emerged private equity markets.
Like its London counterpart, a premium will be placed on networking at the event. Delegates will be able to interact with panellists, moderators, keynote speakers, sponsors and fellow delegates throughout the forum, including the cocktail reception on the first evening of the Forum.
Limited partners and institutional investors will also have a unique opportunity to share their views on emerging markets at a closed-door breakfast meeting as well as attending all public sessions at the forum.
The aim of this Forum remains consistent with the founding principle of the London event: to provide emerging markets practitioners from all over the world with a well-crafted, substantive and relevant program, featuring the best speakers in a professional setting.
