Welcome to the 2nd annual Emerging Markets Private Equity Forum, brought to you by Private Equity International (PEI) and supported by the Emerging Markets Private Equity Association (EMPEA).
The tightening global markets are evolving the definition of emerging markets and changing how plays are being made. This Forum is a timely and critical discussion bringing together the key players and investors in global emerging markets – all under one roof. Last year’s event attracted more than 350 of the leading fund managers and institutional investors. This year promises to be the largest annual gathering of emerging market practitioners in North America. Click here to see a sample of attendees including investors.
Now playing: See Jonathon Bond, fundraising chief for Actis, 3i Asia head Chris Rowlands and Bill Emmott, former Economist editor, share their views on emerging markets private equity issues at the recent Emerging Markets Forum in London (click on thumbnail to view):
"The PEI Emerging Markets conferences are among the most useful and efficient ways to meet the key players and discuss the top issues facing this fast-growing and complex segment of the private equity industry, which is why we regard them as must-attend events." David G Pierce, CEO of Squadron Capital
Opening Keynote by David Rubenstein The 2009 program will kick-off with a keynote address from David Rubenstein, Managing Director & Co-Founder of The Carlyle Group. Mr. Rubenstein is part of a speaking faculty that will be comprised of the leading names involved in emerging markets.

Which sectors will thrive? • Limited partners, institutional investors and sovereign wealth funds: Understanding their expectations, motives and commitment trends • Learning from past crises: saving cash and increasing operations margins amidst inflation and political uncertainty • Challenges of sourcing companies in emerging markets – local networks vs global infrastructure
NEW FOR 2009
More Case Studies from Local, On-the-Ground Experts We are actively securing a line-up that ensures global coverage combined with ‘on-the-ground’ experience to demonstrate an accurate picture of actual market conditions and new opportunities for funds.
Increased Interaction through Real-Time Audience Response System The audience experience at this conference will be like none other. Each participant will be empowered with an audience response system that allows for voting during interactive PowerPoint presentations and sending text messages. Each unit even includes a built-in microphone for more convenient Q&A sessions.
The Big Debate We are introducing a new format to tackle a controversial topic. The affirmative and negative positions will be presented by two speakers each.
